Hi Stephen; the whites look burnt out on our monitor and all those bands! Who is banding all these poor mites?Sorry,but we don't like banded birds--no better than photographing at the nest or in captivity.Please don't be offended,but lots of folks share our opinion.
 
Nice capture in mid-stride. Luv that eye! Have yet to see one of these. Thanks.
 
These guys were a bit quick small and stand offish and had to crop the image down a fair bit. So photograph not perfect. However I quite liked the little guys and laughed at how fast their little legs were going! Their distribution is pretty limited and thought people might be interested.
Also discovered that the Latin name is different in my two ref books!
 
I changed the Latin.

The Hooded Plover is listed as an Endangered Species on Schedule 1 of the New South Wales Threatened Species Conservation Act, 1995 (TSC Act). It is also listed as a Vulnerable Species on Schedule 1 of the Commonwealth Endangered Species Protection Act, 1992.
