In the hover... (Rissa tridactyla)

This shot was taken from a trawler in the English Channel last week. The weather was a bit dull, but there were literally hundreds of gulls, kittiwakes and gannets all fighting over the discarded fish from the boat. This one came into the hover just above the discharge point before diving into the water to gobble up something tasty. The lines in the background are actually ripples on the water, even though they look a bit like clouds.
