Juvenile Lesser Black-backed Gull, Hamilton, ON (Larus fuscus)

Juvenile Lesser Black-backed Gull resting on Van Wagners Beach in Hamilton, ON. I find it hard to believe that this species is not nesting in North America (as i often see reported)...given that i see breeding plumaged birds in April, and crisp Juveniles in September....and not just on the shores of the great lakes.
