King penguin (Apetenodytes patagonicus)

This shot was taken on the beach on King Edward Point, South Georgia. The kings are almost totally fearless down there, as visitors are well trained not to hassle them. I took a number of similar shots but this is the only one where the penguin was not blinking - it seems it's not just humans who are prone to having their photos taken with theie eyes shut!
