little egret fishing Keyhaven hants. These are believed to be feral and are now established at various locations on the south coast

Kenneth, for info there are reckoned to around 150 breeding pairs in the UK now and getting on for 3000 wintering birds. There was a major influx in 1989 thought to have originated from the North Brittany colonies. I have seen as many 100 on my local estuary in North Devon alone.
 
population here seems to be static, I usually see one or two at this location. I find the dark legs and flesh coloured feet somewhat comical Thanks for your comments
