Long Eared Hedgehog (Hemiechinus auritus ()

i was surprised to see this beautiful animal, our small reserve is in Kuwait city, just next to the Hospitals area.
later we found out, that this little guy was responsible for most of the dissapearance of the eggs in the Kentish Plovers nests,
we monitored the nests 24 hours with video camera's ...
it wasn't very sad .. many nests survived ...
Location
Solybikhat bay reserve , Kuwait
Date taken
20-8-2003
Scientific name
Hemiechinus auritus (
Equipment used
Fuji S2 pro, nikon 105mm micro
What a cute creature and a beautiful photo of it. We don't get native hedgehogs in Canada or the US, though a few people do have domestic ones as pets. I believe Kuwait is very keen on nature conservation? Sounds as if it is a great place for birding.

Looks very different to the UK ones. Although he has been doing wrong you can't help but take pity on his cute little face.

Great picture.
