| About Me |
Started birding in 1973 & after about 5 or 6 years learning the basics & becoming familiar with the common & scarce stuff got into twitching in a big way. First rare bird, Killdeer at Eyebrook res in 1975. First twitch, Buff Breasted Sandpiper at Blithfield res in September 1980. Became part of a group of birders known as the Upstarts. All of us realatively young but competent birders, much to the dissmay of the older birders. Blockers I still have are, American Bittern, Hudsonian Godwit, Little Whimbrel, American Redstart, Scarlet Tanager, Northern Parula, Orphean Warbler, Drake Steller's Eider, Savanah (Ipswich) Sparrow, Marmora's Warbler, Green Heron, Nutcracker, Hermit Thrush, Alpine Accentor, Semipalmated Plover, Redhead & Cedar Waxwing. |
