Monarch butterfly larvae on common milkweed ((Danaus plexippus) on (Asclepias syriaca))

Probably the second generation of each spring and summer breeding monarchs here. The forth and final generation overwintering in groves of oyamel fir trees in Mexico. Migrating a distance of roughly 1000 miles.
