Nature red in beak and claw (Chionis alba)

This shot was taken on Bird Island in South Georgia. 'nomdeploom' posted a shot of another Snowy Sheathbill recently, set against the pure white of the Antarctic and looking positively angelic. This one is pictured in a rather less salubrious pose, feeding from the carcass of a dead fur seal.
