Ol' Two-Tails! (Lacerta Viridis)

This beautiful male Green lizard is basking in a pile of branches. He has two tails! The second (smaller) one is the result of an injury that happened some time ago, from the date when the picture was taken. About two weeks later I found out how it happened: a very frightened neighbour thought it was a snake and dropped her shovel and jumped away. Unfortunately, the Greenie didn't escape the falling tool. The result is visible here.
Habitat
meadows, rock formations, meadows with bushes...
Location
Vugrovec, near Zagreb, Croatia
Date taken
23.04.2005.
Scientific name
Lacerta Viridis
Equipment used
Olympus C740UZ
Actually, I don't know. I did hear him in the pile of branches for about another 2 weeks after the photo was taken, but after that I didn't see or hear him. I don't know what happened to him. Although, there have been quite a lot of new lizards claiming that pile after I stopped seeing him, so he could've lost a territorial fight and moved...

Judging by the way he ran through the pile, I'd say that it causes him no discomfort, although I don't know for sure because I wasn't able to catch him to take a closer look.

Since lizards can loose their tails only once in their lifetime, he could have 2 tails, but because of the position of the wound (not at the base of the tail, a little further down) he probably could loose the whole tail, and have just one after that.
