Osprey with Nesting Materials (Pandion haliaetus)

A new pair of osprey have build a nest in one of the areas I frequent It is actually very close to where the eagles in my previous posting build their nest.
This pair choose the crosspieces at the top of a power pole to build on, as many osprey do. The local power company, National Grid, now has a policy of moving the nest off power pole crosspieces if they are deemed a danger but they do it in a unique way that works out for both the power company and the osprey. they put up an extension with a platform on the top either on the same pole or a nearby one and move the nest to the platform. that way the sticks from the nest are not interfering with the wires and the osprey seem to like the nest on the platforms.
Once they moved this nest these osprey went right back to it and are now sitting on eggs.
