Procreation Of The Species (Larus Fuscus)

This pair of Lesser Black-backed Gulls were in the throws of mating and this was a common observation in the huge mixed gull colony at South Walney Island Nature Reserve when I was there recently.

The breeding season is in full swing, with gulls having established territory, formed partnerships, built nests and in some cases laid eggs.
