Savannah Sparrow
Most of these were feeding on the ground in a mowed field, but there was also activity near a small wetland (pictured). They had good reason to stay concealed because there were Cooper's Hawks patrolling the area. When these birds are on the ground or in the grasses, they are very hard to see.

I never see them perched. Always on the ground and this is a lovely image of this Savannah Newton

You did well to lock the focus on him with that background Newton!!

A lovely picture you've taken of this guy - very well done lad.
 
Thank you all for the compliments. And yes, focusing was a chore and required some manual fine tuning.
