Ural Owl (Strix uralensis)

Never an easy bird to find. This bird was amazingly confiding in the early evening, just a few kilometers from my house.

He seemed oblivious to me only some 20 meters away as he looked for his first snack of the evening.

Scrub and grassland near woodland edge in upland and lowland cultivated areas
