Beauty among the rubbish (Merops apiaster)

This bee-eater was feeding on the flies from a rubbish tip. It smelled a lot so I didn't stay too long.

Superb - a jewel in a flawed setting!
I'm sure the bird didn't think so though - not with all these flies. :)
