Stone-curlew (Burhinus oedicnemus)

Second visit to Eastern Canaries. The Stone-curlew is a bird which I always considered impossible to photograph, but this time it was surprisingly "easy" in the dry steppes of the middle of the island.
Habitat
Steppes
Location
Lanzarote, Spain
Date taken
february 2012
Scientific name
Burhinus oedicnemus
Equipment used
500 mm, from the car
This is an amazing shot, I see them in Norfolk occasionally but have never managed such a beautifully detailed image like this. Splendid work Stefano.
