What news from the North? (Cygnus cygnus)

Large numbers of Whooper Swans have been returning from their Icelandic breeding grounds over the last week. Loch Leven is a favoured staging post and as each new family group arrived they were greeted by loud bugling whoops from those that had already arrived. It seemed like they were being quizzed on the latest news from Iceland.
