Green Heron with Twelve-spotted Skimmer Reduction Linocut

Green Heron with Dragonfly. 5-color reduction linocut. Edition of 12. Image is 6x8 inches and print itself is 9x11 inches. Gamblin oil-based ink on Rives Lightweight printing paper.

This is based on a sketch I did this summer of a Green Heron about to eat a dragonfly it had just caught. Since there were a number of Twelve-spotted Skimmers about I tried to make it look like that's what it was.

Hi Paschalis. Thanks a lot. When I was an abstract artist, which was actually most of my career, I loved the abstract work of Stuart Davis. I think this work finally gets something a bit like him, but with naturalistic subject matter.
