Channel-billed Cuckoo (Scythrops novaehollandiae)

This is quite possibly the largest species of cuckoo in the world, and always feels like it should be more closely related to Toucans or Hornbills!!

Thanks guys. One of my fave birds and was lucky to see such a close & obliging bird :). The feet are big, but the banana-sized bill gets me every time!!
 
You are absolutely right......with such a huge beak and that striped tail feathers it does look more of a Hornbill!!! Spectacular bird......Excellent post!!!
