Ambush in the long grass!

Ambush in the long grass! (Connochaetes taurinus, Panthera leo)

The long grass whilst making it difficult for me to get photographs made it very easy for the lions to hunt. This successful hunt involved four lionesses & a young male lion who together captured two adult wildebeest. This all happened within 25 metres of our vehicle (it helps if you have a great guide who knows just where to park up).

Wow, what an amazing and scary moment to witness and photograph Steve. It has to make one glad that they do not have to walk across the open tall grassland. Brilliant!!!!!!
