Black Catbird (Melanoptila glabrirostris)

Strictly speaking this is a bird of central america, being endemic to the yucatan peninsula. However, this particular bird was blown by a strong trpoical storm, perhaps from Cozumel island and sailed into US territorial waters aboard our ship back in June. With Gray Catbird on the vessel, we are perhaps the only ship in the world to have had both catbird species on board!!
