Maybe the question could be re-phrased. Why is Guy always on the wrong side of the reed stem? I Think it is a great picture Guy like most you have posted here. I have recently started videoing birds and I am astonished at the number of frames that might otherwise make reasonable stills in which there is a leaf, twig, vine tendril or grass blade obscuring part of the face especialy the eye. I think they do it deliberately. Keep up the good work.
