Common sandpiper (Actitis hypoleucos)

Taken on Galle beach, Sri Lanka last week. A pleasing and well balanced photo, with the brown of the bird matching the opposite brown of the water and vice versa with the green of the coconut and green water. This splits the photo into relatively equal quarters and gives a symmetry to the shot, taken lying down to get the correct angle. the best I took on holiday, with many more on http://littlehadhambirding.blogspot.co.uk
