Souslik (Spermophilus citellus)

Tip of the day - If you want to see Isabelline Wheatear first find your Souslik! The Wheatears love to build their nests in these cute little animals' burrows! The area I visited yesterday is a noted spot for both species.
Habitat
Grassy upland
Location
Plazovets, Bulgaria
Date taken
15/04/17
Scientific name
Spermophilus citellus
Equipment used
Canon SX50
A superb colourful and well detailed capture you have of this little beaut Chris. Great info mate, well done.

So that's the explanation! We did see both species in the same field on my trip to Romania. Not as close as this, though.
