Spider, species not determined

This little spider is very inquisitive and has several times explored our backpacks and boots while we have been sitting having our lunch out on one of the limestone causses of the Languedoc.

its a male of the species Philaeus chrysops , its a small jumping spider,
if you google the name you can read all about it.

Many thanks for the species name. Jumping spider is correct, every few steps it would jump a short distance. We liked him a lot and called him Sparky Spider because he was always so lively and inquisitive.
