Black Chinned yuhina
PAKHI DEKHOON PAKHI CHINOON @ 777 [Observe the Bird and recognize] ...Coloured Pencil... A4... [from the REF. photograph of Mr. Dibyendu Ash]...The black-chinned yuhina (Yuhina nigrimenta) is a bird species in the white-eye family Zosteropidae.
It is found in the Indian subcontinent from the Himalayas eastwards to contiguous hilly regions of Southeast Asia. The species ranges across Bangladesh, Bhutan, Cambodia, India, Laos, Myanmar, Nepal, Tibet and Thailand. Its natural habitats are subtropical or tropical moist lowland forests, as well as subtropical or tropical moist montane forests.
910 cm; 814 g. Smallest yuhina, dull greenish grey-brown above and buffy below, with blackish face and crest on dull grey head, narrow red bill.
Song remarkable, a clear thin high-pitched sequence of short sibilant ringing whistles.
Food and feeding
Insects and their larvae (including millers, moth pupae), berries, seeds (including those of grass), rice, and flower nectar.
