Curious visitor ...

This happy chappy was sitting on the surface of my dish washing water this morning...I had washed a couple of items and then suddenly this caught my eye... at first I thought it was a piece of withered leaf had blown in the window...I have never seen this guy before - ever ... He doesn't seem to be your average moth or daddy longlegs... I am very curious as to what it might be...!!!

Hi there "Chocky"... Greetings from the north coast of Northern Ireland ...

You have just made my day...

Thank you so much for your very speedy reply ....
I am so delighted I found out who my little visitor was... I have never even heard of these before... but now, my curiosity is peaked... I might do a wee bit of research to see if there are similar species and where they are abundant at...

Have a nice day, and, a wonderful week, and, hope you and your family are well...and thank you once again ... much appreciated, and, warmly welcomed...

Kindest Regards
Brian...

Never seen a moth like this. Even stranger, floating on the soapy water ;)

A great capture Brian!

Wow Brian, I've never heard of these either.... let alone never having seen one.

From my quick research, seems you have a second generation on your soap suds!

What a great find - well done laddie.

Many thanks KC Foggin...I am still getting amazed at what I have found... and possibly a 2nd generation species... Wonders will never cease... This is a '1st' for me...and I am still floating...
I am so glad I decided to wash the dishes when I did, today... Wonder what will be in the sink bubbles tomorrow... !! who knows.

Have a nice day Foggin...and... a wonderful week...

Hi Delia... This is a first for me... its usually daddy long legs or crane fly's in the house with house fly's and pesky blue bottles... but I actually thought, at the start, it was just a wee wither leaf from the garden, blew in the window... then I thought... funny shape for a leaf...Reached for the reading glasses.... what... on ... earth...look at the shape of the wings and the pattern of design...
Then I remembered...on Bird Forum... there was a section on insects etc...I wonder...So after uploading the image I waited, hopefully, for a reply... even just one, to say what it was... Waoo... as I said in an earlier post... I am still floating... and now the answers are just flying in...(no pun intended..)

Hope you all have a nice day tomorrow, and, a wonderful week...Bird Forum... the best in the business...

Kindest Regards,
Brian...

Hi Stanley... Many thanks for the kind comments... This little guy is a '1st' for me... When I first spotted it on top of the suds in the sink, it was the shape and design of the wings, especially the edges of them, that had me intrigued... this wasn't your normal everyday moth shape.. Unfortunately, with him landing in the water suds he didn't last too long, before he drowned... but... I still have the photo...
Hope you and your family have a nice day, and, a wonderful week...

Kindest Regards,
Brian...
