Turkey Vulture

Turkey Vulture (Cathartes aura)

Turkey Vultures appear to Thrive in The Dominican Republic. I had so many shots of both individual and masses of vultures, mixed amongst Magnificent Frigate bird's and Brown pelicans and roosting seperately. As I was rocking on the waves in a boat the photograph could have been more focused but considering it's distance and the circumstances, I am very pleased with it!

Although this is my last upload of the day I have many more photographs, including Hummingbirds which are far from perfect but were a life goal achieved and suprisingly still able to be photographed with my camera.

I love these guys. I get about a couple of dozen crossing over my yard every afternoon headed toward the waterway.

This is a great image and show just how large their wing span is.

Thank you for the kind words, I greatly appreciate the fact others enjoy the photo's as much as myself. I do think this shot captures Turkey Vultures brighter side :)

It must be extraordinary to live somewhere you can see Vultures daily. Unfortunately this is highly unlikely living in central London. Perhaps one day...

You timed this well, especially given the circumstances!
