It might be a bee, but I'm really not sure what it is at all and didn't think there would be enough detail for the ID forum, so didn't try posting there.

On the buddleia in my brother's garden.

Nice image Delia, well done grabbing this macro shot while the insect posed for you. I've tried to get to grips with wasps and bees (and hoverflies, though this doesn't look like one) and it's pretty difficult! So no idea as to ID.

It sure looks like a Bee but cannot confirm and identity. A neat macro shot girl.
 
Good macro with a fine composition and good looking colours.
