Chilean Flamingo (Phoenicopterus chilensis)

Flamingos are filter feeders using their fleshy tongues to pumping water through the bill strainers. This species is widespread but classified as "near threatened" by IUCN. Declines have been attributed to egg harvesting, hunting, disturbance and degradation of their habitat.
