Hi Guy,
Did you take this pic from a hide/blind? I would love to get as close to waders as this...well done!
Tom

Thanks all.
Tom - No, photo was taken from out in the open.
Crawled on my stomach from about 40' to within 15+' along an open mudflat/beach, then gradually sat up & took this photo - was handheld.
In between me & the Tattler was a stream which I guess made him feel secure.

Then half-stood up & went back & got my tripod & repeated the process, but didn't like the Tatlers' poses so much.

Plovers are little more difficult & need a hide (so far).
Will post a photo of a Wimbrell which came within 40' with the approaching tide, but was chased off by a small kid running across the beach - will try again for that one.

Hope this helps, & good luck

Wow! fantastic pic! Well done. I don't even remember there being any mudflats when I lived on Lamma back in the 80s.

Over in Sok Ku Wan.
Lamma in the 80's - must have been wonderful.
I arrived here in 92 - you must have known Bob Davis & Malcolm etc!!!
You can still check out the place on lamma.com.hk
