Barred Owl chick eating Salamander (Strix Varia)

At Camp Long the other day I went to observe the three chicks of a local pair of Barred Owls. It was quite the experience! At one point, I was able to stand only six feet away from one of the chicks. And thankfully, the adults didn't object my close approaches. ;)
