Cooper's Hawk hunting in my yard

This Cooper's Hawk spent about 30 minutes in my yard hunting sparrows.

The sparrows had taken cover in a large mound of geraniums. The hawk knew they were in there and was trying to figure a way to get at them.

Looks like its really strutting its stuff, almost with a super-model kind of attitude! lol Your description paints a great picture of this lovely shot! :t:
 
Amazing pose, with the outstretched leg. You're lucky to have him in range; I've been chasing them for years, with no keeper photos yet.
