Northern Harrier (Circus hudsonius)

Having delayed a trip to Maine because of winter weather I went out locally and spent some time with this Harrier - I only managed 4 frames in 3 hours and only this one is OK....but the experience was fantastic. I love spending time with raptors and owls!

1/1600, f6.3, ISO 800, manually dialled, beanbag on car window, full frame.

This is fabulous! Brilliant shot, make me jealous why don't you?

Not too many birds here today at all but an American Tree Sparrow showed up for a few minutes and I've not seen one all season. Also had a juvie Cooper's hanging about from 7:00AM until 8 or so but it was still heavy overcast and too far for my 100/400 so no good pics of that either.

Such a majestic bird. Love how he is watching you. Great shot Mark :t: :t:

Yup, this fella is weighing you up Mark. Superb aerial image of a beautiful creature, good work.
