You live way up north in Troms,Steinn,but this is really way up north. I wasn't even aware of this arctic subspecies. Thanks.
 
Thanks for nice comments, I'll post a few more arctic waders as they are my favourites!
 
This looks to be Calidris alpina alpina - orange-red fringes on the scapular feathers, whereas C. a. arctica has yellow-buff fringes; also C. a. arctica restricted to NE Greenland in breeding season.
