the Friendly Shrike (Lanius borealis)

My onlty experience with Northern Shrikes was with the mature adults with their gray coats and black masks. None of them were friendly or approachable. It was a delight to encounter a juvenile that was very approachable and willing to be photographed.

I would love to see one of these guys. The only one I have seen in abundance is the Loggerhead. Nice shot!
 
He looks very comfortable in his surroundings. A lovely pose and a great shot, well done.
