Snipe in the open

How lovely to find one out in the open like that GS. I presume this was in front of the hides at the lagoons?

hi, it was relly good to see it show so well. It was to the right- hand side of the middle hide. At one point, a ruff and the snipe were in the same shot, but it didn't work out unfortunately.

Isn't this great to get one of these gems in the open. Great capture and picture John!!!!

thanks, Stanley. Its an exceptional location, with quite often exceptional birds. The snipe being brazen was one of a number of real birding highlights that day. I'll probably try to put it into words for my blog, but it was a 'birding life' experience, much more than just ticking species. I'm just glad I managed to capture even a few of the things I saw!!
