Snow Bunting (Plectrophenax nivalis)

As yet I haven't bothered putting anything in this section.

This shot is full frame no cropping, I had to move backwards away from the bird to allow focussing with my 400mm so you can imagine how close I could to get to this stunning little bird.
Location
Nash Point Glamorgan
Date taken
21/11/07
Scientific name
Plectrophenax nivalis
Equipment used
Canon 30D & Canon 400MM F/5.6 L
Nice pic!! Great to see one on Forum that isn't sitting on pebbles at Salthouse. The pebbles blend into the bird there a little much sometimes, but this green background allows the bird to show well. Thanks for sharing.

It has to be the best way of shooting small birds if you can get close enough but then again there was a fair amount of sheep crap in the field.

Very good capture! Crawling through the fields may be quite dangerous at times ;)
