spoonbills and little egret
back when i started birding back in 1985, i could have never imagined seeing these 2 birds together less than 20 miles from home, my first spoonbill i saw was at leighton moss in 1987 and my first little egret i had to get lift all the way down to northampshire pitsford reservoir that was 1989.

Indeed Pete. I saw my first Little Egret at Pagham Harbour in Sussex back in the '90s and a year or two later there were loads of them in Poole Harbour. In the early 2000's I had the briefest of sightings of a Spoonbill flying past.

Since then I've only seen the odd egret in Scotland, though they are visiting more regularly now. Yet to see another Spoonbill in the UK. I live in hopes.

That's a right grand picture lad - very well done.
