Swainson's Francolin at dawn (Francolinus swainsonii)

I saw this large blob on a post just before dawn while driving to Suikerbosrand NR in the highveld near Johannesburg, and watched fascinated as it turned into a male Swainson's Francolin surveying his territory as the sun came up. This was the colour of the sky exactly as it appeared...Africa, what a place!
