Testing the waters (Motacilla alba)

This wagtail was taking its time deciding if and where to have a bath. Maybe it was a matter of testing how hard the current was? It's a substantial river, and where the bath finally did take place was in a sheltered pool at a curve in the little bedrock island the bird has here just stepped off of.
