Two Cedar Waxwings (Bombycilla cedrorum)

A flock of Cedar Waxwings visited our Privet on various occasions throughout January. At times there were as many as 75 birds, though more often Id estimate 25-30. They gorged themselves on Privet Berries and made quite a mess on our deck! It was well worth the clean up effort though.
Habitat
Backyard, Privet
Location
Northern California
Date taken
January 2018
Scientific name
Bombycilla cedrorum
Equipment used
Fuji X-T2, Fuji 100-400 f/4.5-5.6
They certainly have a good store of food there! Very nicely composed and well timed shot.

Oooh!!!! What a wonderful picture you've got of these two beautiful waxwings Alan.

Gorgeous birds, aren't they. I've been hoping to see 'our' ones this winter, but they've not come come sadly.

Many thanks for showing us these pair in such a lovely setting too.

It's great to see you posting again.

Wonderfully balanced and composed! Excellent shot of an excellent bird! Seen them here through they years, but not for quite a while.

What a terrific moment to capture! I love how they are both facing us on both sides of the berries. A brilliant capture.
