In an ideal world the grass wouldn't be in front of the bird but I'm quite fond of the dew in this shot so I've decided to post it anyway.

very nice Sean, I really struggle with them and would be very pleased with a shot like this. Which 400mm lens are you using?
 
"In that ideal world" all the pictures would look almost the same! I love not only the dew but the DOF and the grass showing they are really not big birds, and beautiful in their yellow finery!!! :bounce: It is a beautiful picture, Sean, and I'm very glad you've posted it! :t: :t: :t: Thanks for it!
