Friday, July 11th first entry for this cycle, and AZ trivia continues for a few more days.

57. The two largest man-made lakes in the U.S. are Lake Mead and Lake Powell, both located in Arizona.

Lake Mead is formed behind Hoover Dam on the Colorado River and borders both Arizona and Nevada near Las Vegas. Lake Powell is up stream behind Glenn Canyon Dam. The dam is in AZ but the lake is in both Arizona and Utah. Due to the ongoing drought in the southwest, Lake Mead is about 39% full and Lake Powell is about 52% full. Lake Mead is now at its lowest level since the lake filled in the 1930s. When full, the water depth of Lake Mead is 590 ft (180 m) and Lake Powell is 560 ft (171 m).
