Probably the same bird was at Swanshurst Park this morning as per Des J (UW82).

The Swanshurst bird was originally found on Wednesday this week by Mike Jeeves after moving from Balsall Heath : Chris Thomson's sighting. A very white bird unlike the coffee coloured bird I had seen twice at Edgbaston Pool. It's thought that the birds are the ones roosting at Bartley.

Des, the Swanshurst bird was found by Graham Fellows, Tuesday, on his way back home after looking for the waxwings at Windermere Road.

The Swanshurst Park, Moseley, Iceland Gull has been very obliging all this week. Good to see that numbers of Birders are taking the time to view it and getting some fantastic pics.
This is the large pale bird found by Terry Hinett roosting at Bartley on 30th Jan. Has roosted there every night since except last night.

Graham

Iceland Gull showed well at 1pm this afternoon loafing around on the lake in the presence of Black-headed Gulls and Lesser Black-backed Gulls. A great local bird!

Any of you wanting to share one please.

Here you are Keith one Iceland Gull, taken this morning in glorious sunshine. The Park, although fairly small was full of Gulls of all shapes and sizes, Including 1 Common Gull and a variety of first winter large gulls. I couldn`t say if the Caspian was amongst them!

Whilst going through my pics of the Iceland Gull, (on 7th Feb) I noted this next to it. I have cropped it separately and was wondering if it was the 1stW/Juv. Caspiain Gull or just a Juv. Herring Gull.

Any help on ID would be appreciated

Richard

Dipped on the Iceland Gull this morning but 50+ Waxwings at nearby Windermere Road were ample consolation.

Many thanks to the local lads for putting me onto them.

Cheers,

Matt

Iceland Gull present around 2pm today, and seemingly for much of the day prior to this.
Also a YL Gull, and several Cormorant, including a 'sinesis' race male similar to that I'd seen at Lifford Reservoir last weekend.
