    I think its going to be difficult to get an certain identity for these images. Most likely on range alone is Southern Yellow-billed. As I said up thread, I personally would bin them and move on, Daniel. One that got away.

    The Southern Yellow-billed has a sizeable casque, which I can't make out on your images. (It might be there, though). I'm a bit colourblind, but the bill on your bird looks red, or may be orange and not as yellow as any I've photographed. Because of that, I think for me, it can't be SYb Hornbill.

    Unfortunately blocked for me Absolutely! None needed at all. Namibia has it's own special beauty and very few people for it's size.

    It think Cisticolas are doable with enough experience. As a fairly deaf and colourblind birder I rely on pattern more than anything else. I now have hearing aids and its wonderful to hear birds I previously didn't, but direction is difficult. I invariably get the position of the sound wrong, so...

    My own photos and the photographic SASOL field guide shows it to be the case. But I'll accept it isn't written up as a distinguishing feature. But on the range maps in field guides alone, Southern Yellow-billed is the only one in range. Don't know how much I trust range maps though...
