    Thanks for the replies! Much appreciated! There were hundreds of these Cackling Geese on the lake that day. Certainly the most I have ever seen in one place.

    Thank you all for the comments and consensus about this being a Cowbird. I do believe this to be true as I did see a Chipping Sparrow keeping watch over this bird at the feeder today.

    [B]These photos were taken in October 2011 at Reifel Migratory Bird Sanctuary on Westham Island near Ladner, BC. I am noticing a lot of brown beige on these chickadees. Are these Black-Capped or are these Chestnut-Backed??? Thanks, Andrea

    This image of a grouse was taken on Sep. 21, 2013 just west of Battleford, Saskatchewan. It seems to have a lot of white on the underside. I thought it was a sharp-tailed but I am not so sure now??? Thanks, Andrea

    This immature hawk (I think) was walking down a back road picking at grasshoppers. Sighted near Battleford, SK. today. It flew to the barbed wire fence and perched long enough to get a couple of decent images. What is it??? Is it a Swainson's??? (like my last post) Thanks, Andrea
