    Thoughts about my 'new' Kowa 883 compared to my old 823

    If you like fixed eyepieces, try the te-80xw (35x) for the 883, i have it and the wide fov and clarity is amazing, better than the zoom.

    Believe it or not it happened to me! Bought the Vortex Diamondback 10x42 and got the 10x50 instead which are $30 more. Ended up keeping the 10x50!

    Thanks for the reply, i will wait for a good discount and buy one. I think i will pair it with a Sirui VA-5 to keep things slim and light as i want to carry my scope in the backpack on all my hikes but also want a sturdy viewing experience.

    Anybody got this tripod for use with a spotting scope? Any opinions? Would a Manfrotto mvh500ah complement it well? Would really appreciate some pictures as well to see how it all fits together.

    Opinions on Kowa 881

    I have a good deal on a older Kowa 881 but i dont know if it is good. Is there a big diference between the 881 and the 883? Would the 881 and an newer eyepiece like the te-80xw be o good combo?

    Any customer review of new tsn-99?

    How do you like the TE-80 over the zoom? I couldn't find any reviews of it and i am really interested in some opinions as i have to decide between the two. Anybody else that has tried it, do you like it? I have looked through the old kowa 30x and the 25-60x and seem to prefere the fixed power...

    Best tripod for a big Kowa scope?

    Sorry for the offtopic, but did the VA-5 handle the 883? Is the mvh500 much smoother? These are my current 2 options but i don't like that the mvh is bulky while the VA-5 might not be good for the 883.

    Which one are you getting? And please let us know if you like it. I am also really considering one but i haven't seen reviews form birders.
