    7x35 - a forgotten class of binoculars

I too have and enjoy some vintage Binolux wide angle 7x35s. The more modern ZenRay 7x36 still performs as well.

    ~6.5 power binoculars?

I know there has been some discussion of IF binoculars in this thread. Personally I don't have any problems using bins so equipped. I have two IF pairs that see a lot of use. A vintage 1st generation '83-'87 Leupold Gold Ring #52277 9x35 and more to the point of this thread, '05 Minox BD...

    Bino Thoughts #6

Thanks for asking Bill. bald1 appreciates it! Not really. Still fighting the fight with the big C. Kinda stuck at the house since early March except for medical appointments that can't be handled via telemed. Stair Lifts have been a god send. Thankfully have great neighbors that get...

Bill, you remain a treasure despite what the narrow minded would have folks believe!

7x42’s; High end versus mid range (oldies but goodies)

Wide FOV Junkie I too have and enjoy my Swaro SLC 7x42. That said they are indeed heavy which is why I use a MadDog harness similar in design to the one pictured earlier in the thread. And I admit to being a field of view junkie. :) That pursuit has seen me sample many vintage 7x wide...

    7X42 format.

I guess the bins listed in my signature speak to what I have found favor with. :)

    Bill Cooks book now available

Kudos and congrats Bill. I've not been on here much of late so I missed any pre-launch announcements. BTW I'm now officially a septuagenarian. No stroke but still dealing with the Big C. :( All the best.... and screw CN! LOL

Bino Harness...Do You Use One or No? If So, What Do You Like?

+1. An old thread in this forum recommended the Mad Dog's. Ordered one and liked so much I ordered another two. I use them without the half shell cover. Works for me. :) And yes quite unfortunate that they've been discontinued. As an aside over the years I've tried numerous straps and...

    Why no 9x36?

http://www.birdforum.net/showthread.php?t=91727 Still enjoying my early 80s vintage Leupold 9x35 Gold Ring IF Porros Model #52277 that the factory refurbished for me in 2007 :)
