Thanks James, my conclusion now too.

    Flycatcher type, Nairobi, Kenya

Thanks for the response. What’s throwing me off about this bird is the apparently very strong contrast between the upper and lower parts, in particular the darker upper part of the head

    Flycatcher type, Nairobi, Kenya

Hi all, Sorry for the back of camera shots but very curious what this little flycatcher-looking bird might be. Found in a forested park in Nairobi, Kenya. Thanks very much

    Flycatcher in N. Greece

Hi all, Made this short video recording of a Flycatcher scolding me today. It was a mixed forest habitat, not far from water, at about 600-800 m elevation. Thrace, northern Greece. Let me know if you have any trouble opening the link. Thanks! https://youtu.be/NdxjEFR38Y8

    Juvenile Shrike Northern Greece

My impression in the field (with better views than these shots suggest :) ) was also Masked. Thanks!

    Juvenile Shrike Northern Greece

Observed this juvenile Shrike today in Thrace, Greece. Open, cultivated habitat at sea level. Both Woodchat and Masked Shrikes reported in the area. Noticed it continuously moved it’s tail up and down in wagtail-like fashion. Thanks in advance.

    Black birds in Ouagadougou

Hi all, Hope a Sahel expert can help me with these very poor photos, shot this morning at the Parc Urbain Bangr-Weoogo in Ouagadougou, Burkina Faso. I’ve left in the Laughing Dove for size comparison. I noted the pale bill and fairly long, marked tail. Thanks in advance!

    Warbler in E. Tonkin

Hi all, Taken by my friend in E. Tonkin, Vietnam (don’t have exact location - perhaps Tam Dao NP) in March. He thought Chinese Bush Warbler but is looking for confirmation/correction. Thanks!

    Brewer’s Blackbird, Delaware, today?

They observer said the pale eye was clear in his scope, though I agree it isn’t so apparent in these photos.

    Brewer’s Blackbird, Delaware, today?

Hi all, A friend of mine digiscoped this Blackbird at long distance, associating with Red-winged Blackbird. His (and my) impression is of a Brewer’s Blackbird rather than the more expected Rusty Blackbird or Common Grackle. What do you all think? Thanks!
